Second lockdown

Hello. Is it normal to be anxious about the next 4 weeks? I don't know how I'll cope with having to spend another month in a room. My friends say I should be happy about being able to work from home...Am I just overreacting? Does anyone else feel like this?

Hi @SuzC, thank you for your question. I feel exactly the same and although I'm not an expert myself, I personally think your feelings are valid and this is normal. We're all different.
One thing that really helped me is creating a little work station for myself. It's basically a corner where I work and work only, so my mind 'knows' what it supposed to do there if that makes sense. :) I also got an aroma diffuser and it definitely has a calming effect on me.
We have Shanley, our Self-care & Mindfulness Coach on board, who'll be happy to advise you further:
Hi @SuzC, Thank you for sharing this. Yes! It is very normal to be feeling anxious during this time ever- changing and unpredictable time.
Your mind and body is reacting the threat/danger of what is happening right now. It can be helpful to schedule in some relaxation and mindfulness, to help manage your anxiety.
Here are some links to help:
Diaphragmatic breathing- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgTL5G1ibIo
Progressive muscle relaxation - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9x3tl81NW3w
It can be really difficult to work from home and stay in the same environment. It can be helpful to create a new routine; getting some fresh air in the daytime (especially during this time of year) a self-care routine to help switch off after working and creating time and physical boundaries can help too.
Hope this helps,

@SuzC I'm the same, and also I don't seem to be able to concentrate since working from home. At first I enjoyed it but it's very difficult now. Make sure to take regular breaks. I always go for a walk at lunch which definitely helps.
Thank you Shanley for these resources, seems super useful I will look into them this weekend.
@Mary78 Anytime! Let us know how it went!.
