  • @AMR Hi Ann-Marie, so glad to hear your MRI results were clear and that you're having a consultation with your doctor soon. Well done for stepping up and thinking of asking for a menopause practitioner - sadly in the past I heard many women saying their GP isn't particularly helpful when it comes to the menopause. You…
  • Hi @Chen, just wanted to check in with you to see how you're doing. Are you feeling any better?

I'm not a qualified professional myself, however I wanted to share a couple of resources with you, you might find them useful: I'm also tagging two of our experts @DianePorterfield-Bourne and @Giada Frontino who might be able to shed some light…

  • Hi @AMR I can see Monica has already been in touch with some useful advice. Just wanted to welcome you to the community! It's great to hear your GP is helpful and that you're getting the support you need. I'm not sure if this is linked to the menopause as I'm not a doctor myself either, however one of our two experts will…

  • @MonicaM I talk to myself a lot as well! Sometimes it feels a little weird but it does work I think. I did CBT therapy not long ago and there was an entire module on self-esteem and daily affirmations were one of the things suggested. :)

  • Thank you for initiating this discussion @Diane Porterfield-Bourne, I've heard / seen so many women experiencing forgetfulness and brain fog during the menopause. My mother has just started to get these as well and said it's very stressful as she keeps forgetting to do things at work, or just simply forgets how to do…
  • Thank you @MonicaM! It's reassuring to know brain fog is a "normal" thing (well, it isn't, but you get me...). You know, I just read my original comment from yesterday about my mum having brain fog and silly me, I just remembered I experience this too on a daily basis due to my medication (I'm on anti-depressants)! I know…
  • aww @MonicaM! You know, I actually got this muscle gun thing (not sure about the technical term haha) as I suffer from extremely bad leg pain due to my past dancer career and it has changed my life! Might try a nice lavender bath as well on Friday.
  • Thank you for the insight @Diane Porterfield-Bourne, that is well frustrating to hear - I actually read a similar story the other day about a lady who was prescribed anti-depressants to treat hot-flushes and achy joints...I'm not a healthcare professional myself, nor am I going through the menopause (yet), however I know…

  • Thank you @Diane Porterfield-Bourne, I didn't know dizziness / vertigo can be linked to hormones. Might explain why I feel dizzy before and during my period! I've seen my doctor about this before but always been told it's not connected... @Brookie66, thank you for the update, so sorry to hear you're still dealing with…
  • Hi Monica, thank you so much for your response and can I just say, I totally feel for you. I'm going through a very similar situation actually! I've not seen my mum or my family (they live abroad in Europe) for a year and a half now. I've been working from home since last spring and haven't seen anybody apart from my…

  • @PAULA MILHAM Hi Paula, I can see you've already had some useful responses. I don't have personal experience with reflux, however I do feel nauseous / dizzy quite a lot, although in my case it's not menopause related. Peppermint tea helps me a lot. I wanted to share the following resources with you that are worth having a…
  • This is a great discussion, thank you for sharing your experiences @Diane Porterfield-Bourne and @MonicaM. My mum's turning 55 next month and the most terrible symptom she's experiencing is brain fog. The other day she took the dogs out for a walk - only to realise at the gate that she forgot one of them, bless her!…
