Hi thanks for adding me. I'm 54 and menopausal, I have been having hot flushes and night sweats which I expected but I have this weird feeling like icy water trickling down inside my head, I hope someone can tell me its normal as I'm very worried about it.

Hi Ziggy102 welcome to the group.

I wanted to say thank you for joining, this group is a great group of ladies going through menopausal symptoms.

Ziggy, although I suffer with hot flushes and night sweats I have never experienced the icy water feeling inside my head. I am not a doctor but I would suggest you speak with your doctor.

Also, we have a nurse expert in our group and I will tag her in this conversation and maybe she can advise you.

@DianePorterfield-Bourne hi Diane are you able to assist @Ziggy102

    Hi @Ziggy102,

Are these more like 'cold flushes' you think? Like shivering & feeling cold all of a sudden? My mother used to have these.

Here's an article that might shed some light on what you're experiencing:

I'd definitely talk to Diane as Monica suggested above. Let's see what she says!

    Talk soon,

Thank you @Blanka_C and @MonicaM for linking me in.

Welcome to the group. This forum offers menopause support and professional advice, so you have come to the right place.

During the menopause our in build thermostat is affected. Many but all women experience hot flushes and sweats but after a sweat women can feel cold and shiver too. I personally haven't heard of this sensation but you experiencing but you are menopausal. Strange sensations in the head and headaches are all common. Feeling cold too is one...it is all part of the alterations in hormones affecting our thermostatic control.

But like all health issues you must discuss these with the GP. Also discuss HRT and see if this is something you want or you can have.

Please read the information @Blanka_C as posted above and good luck.

    Best Wishes

    Diane Porterfield Bourne.

Thanks for adding me to this group! I’ve recently started on HRT. I’m on Eostrodose & some say this gel is identical to Eostrogel, I’ve heard that it could be inferior & that some ladies have had a return of symptoms with the Eostrodose. Would you be able to clarify for me?

    Hi @BarbieNor25,

I think this is a question for @DianePorterfield-Bourne - she's our resident menopause nurse practitioner and a HRT specialist! :)

In the meantime, please feel free to join our menopause Q&A tonight at 6pm BST where Diane will be answering questions from attendees live! (It's free of course.)

Thank you for writing into Live Better With menopause. This is an interesting point and it was only bought to my attention recently.

I am unable to give precise advice about these 2 products. They are produced by the same pharmaceutical company and but are imported and stored in different places. That's all I can really tell you I'm afraid. What I would suggest ( if you want to know more) is to speak to your pharmacist and they can email suppliers/or the drug company on your behalf.

    I hope that has helped.

    Best Wishes

    Diane Porterfield Bourne.
