Hi didn't have a period since last October .

But on Friday I came on after 8 months. It only lasted 3 days.

is this normal after 8 months of not having one.

thank you

    Hi @Julieju67 ,

I'd say it's frustrating, but fairly normal.

As a rule of thumb, you are said to be in the perimenopausal stage until you have gone for a full 12 months without a period. "Menopause" is actually just one day - the day you've been 12 months without a bleed. You are post menopausal after that day.

If you're worried at all, you should speak to your GP, especially if you are experiencing other symptoms too. Keep a note of what's happening with your cycle and symptoms so that you can let your GP know at any appointments. Otherwise I guess the count starts again.

    Hope this helps 😊
