Silent acid reflux

Hi!
I'm 49 and last year I thought I was starting the perimenopause. I was having hot flushes/ night sweats and discovered I had a large (non cancerous) ovarian cyst. My consultant said it was probably due to the perimenopause as when I started having the discomfort I also had the hot flushes/ night sweats as he said that's very common. Had surgery which went well and they had to remove that one ovary.
Just recently I've started having a burning throat. Contacted gp as I thought it might be my hayfever. She said ears, nose and throat all clear and it could be silent acid reflux. She's prescribed me a month's course of Omeprazole. Am wondering if this is linked to perimenopause.

@Timelord1
Good morning and thank you for writing in to us.
Acid reflux symptoms are a common feature during hormone fluctuations. In pregnancy for example acid reflux is common too.
Omperazole should help, also addressing any factors relating to diet and lifestyle. Watching foods you eat, not eating too much or too late at night. Some women remain on these types of medications. Menopause can aggravate it too. If you are peri menopausal have you discussed menopause with your GP? or HRT?
Best wishes
