How do you get HRT patches to stick?

KazKenn24KazKenn24 Posts: 51 ✭✭
I'm a new user of HRT patches.
Struggling to get them to stick longer than a couple of days, but I've seen other women say they can take baths, go swimming etc without having the patch fall off. I'm following the instructions on the packet, so what am I doing wrong? Does it stop the patch working if I put micropore over the top to keep it on for longer? Do some patches stick better than others?
Frustrated!

I can't use patches as I'm allergic to plasters but I work in the NHS and do a lot of dressings. The tip we give people is once you have put it on keep your hand over it for a minute or so as the heat from your hand warms up the sticky and it sticks better and stays on longer. Also make sure you have no cream on your skin as that will make it come off. Hope that helps x

    Morning Julie!

I'm allergic to Elastoplast, but these seem to be OK!

A minute or so? I haven't been keeping my hand on the patch long enough maybe!

No cream etc on my legs - time to moisturise is a luxury I don't often get! 😂

I'll let you know if it works.

    Thanks 😊
