Not up to my best

This week has been somewhat of a struggle for me. Not feeling like my normal self, feeling a little down and nervous. I am waiting for my Gasterologist to get back to me so that I can schedule to have CT scan done on my stomach. She was concerned about how much my stomach is sticking out and it isn't going down. It has been that way for a couple of months now.

I am going to be totally transparent right now but my dad passed away back in 1999 at the age of 58 and it has been a big loss to me every since but he passed away from cancer and they don't know what the origin of it came from and honestly I am scared because I am now 53 and of course it is in the back of my mind about me maybe getting cancer. My mom is pretty healthy she is 78 and doesn't have that many problems just the normal stuff of aging.

I am trying to stay positive about it and some days I am fine and not worried but with the test coming it of course it sparked me to be somewhat concerned about it.

I just wanted to vent and share my feelings to you guys and thanks for reading it.

    Hi Monica. I'm so sorry to hear this. It must be a very tough situation. I'm sorry I'm not really sure how to help but maybe occupying your mind is a good idea. Try to keep as busy as possible and not think of the worst. My prayers are with you xx

    Thank you Mary prayers are always welcome and I appreciate your concern and that is a good idea to try to keep my mind occupying.

    @MonicaM I'm pleased you are having a better day. You aren't alone feeling down. We all have worries that control our minds and until we understand what's going on it's hard to think of anything else. Plus we all need to vent and us women know how important that is.

    I assume they have done blood tests checking for worrying signs. It's no harm in having lots of checks and investigations.

    When are you booked in?

    Best Wishes

    @Diane Porterfield-Bourne

    Thank you for responding Diane and I agree with what you said.

    I have been trying to get a hold of the specialist so I can set up the test.

    I am sure my GP will do more blood work, she did it during my physical. She will probably do something after she gets the results

    Hi MonicaM, just wanted to let you know I'm praying for you as well. I went through a similar situation bout 3 months ago. My GP sent me to GI to have a light put down my throat after I was having bloating, stomach pain, acid reflux issues. I was really nervous about what would be found. They found out I had a stomach infection and put me on meds to clear it. Keep a positive mind and it will all work out alright. Best wishes. Djdros52
