Hi, I'm currently peri menopausal I'm not experiencing symptoms at the moment I'm just wondering that with my Oestrogen declining how can I protect my heart & bones , my Dr has advised a daily Vit D but whatb about long term?
That's a very good question. Problem is without regular blood tests you won't know what you are lacking in and taking too many vitamins can be just as dangerous to your body as not having enough. If that makes sense. Calcium keeps the bones strong so may be try a low grade calcium substitute.
The unfortunate thing with growing older is that everything in our bodies that keeps us feeling "Normal" depletes.
You could start with a 50+ vitamin as that will have everything in it that our bodies naturally lack x
I remember back in January, our expert @Nicki_Williams answered a question about bone health.
This is what she said, and the link to some further, really useful information for you.
There are lots of nutrients needed to protect your bones, including Vitamin D, Vitamin K2, Magnesium, Calcium, strontium, boron, molybdenum and phosphorous. Check out my blog on osteoporosis;
Hope this is helpful 😊
