Surgically Induced Menopause

After a hysterectomy at age 34, I was told that because my ovaries had been left behind, I would go through menopause at the “normal” time....
Two years after surgery though the symptoms started, and the menopause was upon me.
Sixteen years on, the symptoms are still there, and I just wonder if things are worse because my body was “shocked” into menopause?
Does anyone else feel the same? Has treatment for other conditions dragged you into the menopause early? What have your coping mechanisms been?
