HRT & Endometriosis

It’s been 3 yrs since my last period and a long history with endometriosis. So how would HRT effect endo and could it still be of help to me with hot flushes, aches and pains, no libido, brain fog, nausea and low mood? Many Thanks 🤗

    Good morning Claire,

Thank you for getting in touch. Having HRT when you have endometriosis can be quite problematic but certainly not impossible. Oestrogen can often encourage the growth of endo. How significant is your endo? Have you had any surgical procedures?

What has your GP said? Done? Advised?

The way I view this; is how menopause symptoms are affecting you and are these more problematic compared to your endo?

I have prescribed HRT for women with endo but it is a delicate balance. Most women I speak with say their menopausal symptoms are impacting upon them more than their endo.

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Best wises
