    Hi Jackie,

thank you for your lovely comments. The money my granddaughter is raising ( about £800 so far), is going to the local hospice.

  • I’ve been raising money for cancer charities for many years by making little angel charms which sell in hospital shops and fundraising for £2.95 each. I put more on them than some angel makers and they fly out, excuse the pun. I’ve made over 1500 and with a little bit of money to buy the bits to make them you can raise a lot of money. If anyone wants to have a go making them message me with a way I can send a diagram and I’ll be happy to share how I make mine.

  • Today I think I've at last come to terms with my cancer diagnosis. Next Friday is my 3rd chemo session. The post this morning brought another appointment for the 3rd March for a CT scan. That means I'm getting closer to the operation to have debunking done. That scares me quite a bit as they won't know till they get in there what will need to be removed. I'm just hoping I've responded well to the chemo and there won t be much to strip out from the peritoneum and omentum. I had a hysterectomy when I was 40 and they left my ovaries behind so they definitely have to go. I believe more could come out but they haven't told me that it's only what I've read. I see the oncologist on Wednesday and I think I've done well with it. My head has been a problem both times with hair loss pain and a rash like chicken pox that keeps coming back. I'm taking anti histamine and using steroid cream when the itching gets really bad. Not been wearing my wig much because of this. Bit sad as it's a lovely wig that I got from America and it's a wash and drip dry overnight and a much better silver grey than my own hair. I have a step sister in USA who told me about this wig company that has been going for 20 years and won so many awards for cancer care wigs. When I had my hospital wig appointment I was only offered a magazine to choose a wig and the lady I saw just chose a colour similar to mine and that was it, consultation over in about 15 minutes. So I decided not to go that way. If your lose your hair in such a traumatic way you want to feel good about what replaces it. I got quite a few hats and caps I took quite a while to choose.

Big thanks to Sunshinedaff for keeping my morale going and asking how I'm getting on.I think this is sort of update as much for myself as well as letting this community know how I'm doing. Big thank you also to those that replied to my queries with different problems. I still not sure I'm coping mentally with it all but that's another story. But today I'm feeling God and my daughter is picking me up at Liu to have a walk/ stroll more probable along the beach. Bye for now
