Medication/pain relief

Hi I care for a wonderful lady of 84yrs who has limited mobility due to an old back injury. She is also diabetic, history of blood clots and has had numerous UTI’s ..... She has medication regularly and I am having to put the pills into her mouth and watch that she has swallowed. Unfortunately she has at times pouched the pills in the side of the mouth and I have found them spat out on the carpet some time later. She is also now unaware of having had the meds/pain relief and is frequently asking for more and becoming distressed when I cannot give any. Any ideas would be helpful. I am asking the Doctor if there are liquid equivalents. Some of the meds say do not crush!
