Hi Jackie,so lovely to hear I made you laugh over my wig buying experience 😂
My husband also had bowel cancer in 2007,he had stage 3,Radiotherapy first, then surgery and 19 lymph nodes removed, then Chemo tablets.
He had a colostomy bag for a year then had a reversal op.
Twelve years later he is fine,he still has yearly blood checks and is due another colonoscopy in December,so even this far along he is still having an eye kept on him.
If you’ve been following my story, you will have read that I was diagnosed with breast cancer in Nov ‘18, have had 6 Chemo sessions, mastectomy and just finished 15 Radiotherapy sessions.Been a long road but I’m now on Letrozole for 5 years and every 3 weeks have to have Herceptin by IV as I’m HER2 positive.
I am getting stronger every day and try to give myself “ a project” so I feel like I’m returning to being “normal”.
You still have a way to go until you will start feeling like yourself again, but you will get there.
Almost a year ago I would never have been able to visualise where I am today.
I found this site and as you are finding yourself,it’s been a marvellous support, even in the middle of the night when sleep wouldn’t come,I’ve logged on here and read other peoples journeys, and it has been so helpful.
Take your time Jackie, and find some “me” time.
Look after yourself, always here for a chat,
