I wonder if Liz our Oncology nurse can give you some insight in what provision is made for patients with dementia in cancer treatment.
It is very terrifying as it is dealing with cancer and all the treatment necessary, I can imagine it being far more so for anyone whose mental faculties are impaired.
I am sure that the trained cancer nurses and doctors are very mindful and go to great lengths to ensure any distress caused by confusion and lack of understanding.
If this is a relative of yours you are enquiring after I hope that the care they receive and treatment given goes well.
There is also the dementia forum you could check in on, perhaps there are others there who have experienced a similar situation?
