Hello Everyone,

We appreciate these are worrying times. You might have concerns or questions on staying safe, caring for a loved one, looking after your mental health and many more.

To answer your questions and address your concerns, we have recently organised a FREE Expert Webinar (LIVE) with Oncology Specialist Nurse @LizzyB73 and Emotional Wellbeing Advisor @KarinSieger on cancer and the coronavirus.

We covered topics including self-isolation, caring for a loved one, being at risk, receiving treatment and mental health.

Attendees had the opportunity to listen in, ask and get answers to their questions live (by simply using the chat function, so no camera or mic was needed).👋

We recorded the webinar so that we can share it with as many people as we can.

We hope you find this helpful. Please share this with anyone who might be interested. 😊

Thank you ladies, Tamara, Karin and Liz for giving up your time this evening to share your wisdom and insight regarding those living with cancer in the midst of the coronavirus crisis at this time.

It was also lovely to be able to put a voice to a name and a profile picture.

    Brilliant, many thanks

What a lovely generous and positive post. I am sorry that you are facing cancer at such a young age and I understand that it must be really tough for your husband too. I was slow to understand the effect my cancer diagnosis and treatments had on my wife. A cancer diagnosis takes control away from us and the partner who does not have it can feel helpless I think. I absolutely agree that this community is a great place to chat, vent or complain. We are here to support one another and to take the strain without putting it onto our partners.

I am spending a lot of time video calling my family and friends too. My eldest sister lives in Texas. She is 83 and disabled and normally has her daughter Margaret to visit every day, but Margaret is living with cancer too and cannot visit at the present time. Thank goodness for video technology.

I do hope that your chemo continues as planned but you need to stay safe, not that you need me to tell you that.

You are right, it is a good idea to keep busy at home and to forget the virus for a while. I wonder if you would like to post a pic of your spaniel on 'Furry Friends' in the Cancer Coffee Break section. It would be lovely to see him/her.
