Hello Everyone,

Today is Blue Monday - claimed to be the saddest day of the year by many.

I just wanted to check how you're all doing / feeling?

Do you think Blue Monday is 'real'? I was just having an interesting conversation with a friend at lunch and she said she doesn't believe in 'anything non-scientific' and that she feels absolutely no difference! Meanwhile, I myself woke up feeling more anxious than usual without any particular reason and also find it very difficult to focus on anything. 🤔

Would love to hear your thoughts!

I also wanted to share a couple of useful resources & tips below.

Speak soon,

Blanka x

    Hi Blanka,

I did read yesterday that it was Blue Monday, I hadn't heard of it before.

I am not sure the date has anything to do with it really though.

Perhaps it is due to three weeks into the new year and people have found their new resolutions have already been cast to the sidelines, dry January has become wet January, the cost of Christmas spending is hitting home, and life is tough. I don't think all that is unique to this time of year though. It can happen all year round and does for many.

I always find November-Feb difficult months, I am not good in winter, really miss the sun and can't bear the shorter days and lack of sunlight. The last few days have been wonderful with so much sunshine around, even if freezing cold, just seeing the sun lifts me.

I think how we wake up in the morning can often set the tone for how our days go. Whether we get a good night's sleep or not. Waking up either out of sorts, grumpy, tired, or feeling brilliant, raring to go.

I do hope you had a better day today, maybe yesterday was just a blip.😊

    Hi Lou,

I completely agree - it's quite sunny in London right now (in fact, it has been for the past week or so) and I'm feeling so much better because of it. Can't wait for Spring, birds chirping, etc. 🤩

    Good evening friends

Oh Blanka, I am sorry to hear that yesterday was ‘blue’ for you. I am so pleased that you are feeling better today.

It was a lovely day yesterday, cold but bright and Mary and I took a bus out to Corbière Phare and walked back into our home in town which is around 7 miles. The first 4 miles is a tree lined walkway which used to be a railway line and the last 3 is along the seafront. It was tiring but invigorating at the same time and anything but ‘blue’. Oh, and we stopped off for a sandwich, coffee and chocolate bar in a little café at the halfway mark.

Haha Lou. I didn’t bother with resolutions this year. I am enjoying a nice shiraz and a chocolate right now and I don’t even feel guilty. 🍷😉

    Rob xx
