Cancer can take our confidence, identity, security, relationship and life. How to cope with loss.

KarinSiegerKarinSieger Posts: 98 Emotional Wellbeing Advisor

Apart from our health and our life, cancer can take a lot while we we are alive - even if in remission. That's why grief and loss is part of the cancer experience.

Read and listen to my grief collection here.

We feel bereft for the life we had and the type of life we never had a chance to live.

We may have lost self confidence and self worth, parts of our bodies, relationships, peace of mind, employment, financial security, our place in society and so much more.

Meanwhile others may die of cancer and make our own mortality feel that more urgent.

You may have lost someone to cancer or you, yourself are preparing for your own death.

Cancer grief is not straightforward and there is no 'one size fits all' approach for coping with it.

I have pulled together a grief collection of favourite self help articles and podcasts which you can find on my website here.

I hope this will assist you in finding a path of coping with the grief and loss you are experiencing.

Best wishes.
