How will steroids affect my grandson while he’s having chemotherapy

    Hi Kaz,

There are a variety of steroids that may be given as part of cancer treatment. They can be used for several reasons, the effects of them can vary also.

Many of us have steroids before and during chemo treatments.

I have put a link to an info page about steroids at Macmillan Cancer Support. Your grandson may not experience everything that is listed, it does depend on the individual. The side effects are generally short term, don't last long. But during chemo, they may be taken at particular times until chemo is finished.

I hope this helps you. I also hope your grandson is coping and managing with the treatment.
