    Hi Rob,

I hope you are having a great afternoon, love to see your photos, you will need another holiday to recuperate after this week! That is am amazing sculpture, do you think if someone stuck a finger in it, it would start a collapse like dominoes?? I know it would be very annoying but fun at the same time!!  ;) I'm sorry!! ;)

Lots of activity here still, as usual, a beautiful day! The girls have been at a loose end, phrases like 'I haven't anything to wear' resulted in my suggestion to go through their wardrobes and drawers which were full to bursting and do a clear out. Three full charity bags later....hahaha.

Jet washing all complete, just got to rearrange all the pots now!

    Chat later,

    Hi Lou
Haha, not sure what would happen if someone stuck a finger in the castle. They would be very unpopular I guess.  The chap who made it used to actually build them on the beach above the waterline but they tended to get smashed up overnight.

I have heard the comment ‘I haven’t got anything to wear’ myself of late. Funny that the sales are on over here. 🤣. I bet there was some good stuff in those charity bags too. I haven’t got anything to wear either at the moment. I am getting wider by the day and my straight fit shirts don’t fit any more.  Ah well, Mary has been getting salads and veggie foods so it looks as if the good life is over for a while.☹️.

I can’t believe it is another weekend already. The family say it is pouring down in Cheshire, but it is still warm and sunny here. Just popping out to catch some rays.  Enjoy the weekend. Speak later.

    Hi Rob,

I remember seeing some sand sculptures in France, in Pleneuf Val Andre, they were high up by the wall, but were also brilliant. Beautiful artistry.

Sorry about the change in diets!! Lol! Glad you got out in the sun today, we had huge amount of rain for 24 hours, but since this afternoon, it has been hot , been lovely. Doing a few jobs in garden...haha!

But for now, it is Pimms o'clock!

    Have a lovely evening,

    Chat later,

Rob! Just seen the photo of you all! Looks wonderful! And what a handsome group you are! That looks suspiciously like a very cold bottle of water on your table! Not ice cold Chardonnay? Please tell me its not water! 🤔😁

    @Lesley

    Hi Lesley
Haha, you got me there. I was driving so yes it is water I’m afraid and I had a cup of coffee later. It was quite funny because after lunch, the girls stayed at the table for a gossip and I went into the lounge to watch the cricket. I asked for a coffee unbeknown to the girls and they refused to pay for it when the bill arrived not realising I’d had it. Would have been worth it if I’d had a double whiskey. Haha, yes, I let them pay the bill but Mary had the last laugh because she used the joint account to pay it. ☹️

I am trying to lose weight so we had a nice long walk today. Lots of lovely flowers to see and smell.  Agapanthus sre gorgeous.

    Hi Rob,

Wow! they look fabulous. Mine don't look anything like that! Maybe I need to split the pot! Or maybe they are still coming into flower, they look very spindly!

Yes, I agree with Lesley, I did wonder about the clear liquid!! haha!

Rob, you are not the only one trying to lose weight, I think for many of us, dealing with cancer and having to take all the meds we do, losing weight is so very hard. I swear I have lost the same 20lbs a million times!! (ok, so a tiny exaggeration there, but only a tiny one!)  =)   =)

Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend, have a restful, peaceful evening.

We are watching Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe, one of my absolute favourite films!

    Hi Friends,

    Dear Lou,
So sorry I haven’t been in touch lately.
Had a rough time of it side effects! Haven’t been able to concentrate on anything as well as problems with hands feet and low white bloods cells. Causing delays in treatment.

I am so pleased to say I only have 2 more chemo to go all being well. Following my recent scan I saw my Consultant and he told me my 6 month scan showed no evidence of cancer and I will soon be finished with treatment. Last one on 16/08/19. I am so pleased it was worth all the treatment. I had chemo on Friday and feel a bit rough but soon will be finished. 😄 love Jackie x🙋‍♀️

Dear Rob, the Agapanthas are beautiful! I’ve never seen such a beautiful display.
I have been trying  to catch up with all the messages. Glad you had a good time with your lady visitors. I bet they tired you out!  Well done England cricket team.
How is your composing going? I had to cancel some of our music meetings but will be looking forward to finishing treatment and getting back into it.  🎻
Hope you and Mary are ok and are enjoying the good weather. Will keep in touch. Love Jackie X🙋‍♀️

    Hi Lesley,
I hope you are well, nice to see your message on here. How is your treatment going?  Can’t wait to enjoy a lovely G&T soon!
Take care Lesley hope to keep in touch with you.
    Love Jackie x🙋‍♀️

By the way I know what you mean about weight gain! Is it steroids? I lost weight initially but i gained it again plus some, no more cakes biscuits and Magnums for on my good days! Can’t eat them in my bad ones tho.
I think I have too  much time in my hands and think what can I eat! O dear!  more fruit I think!
    Xxx 🙋‍♀️

    Hi Jackie,
It is so lovely to hear from you, I am sorry you have had some really tough days with ongoing pain and effects of chemo.

But your news is so fantastic!!! No evidence of disease!!!!! Just brilliant, so very happy for you.
Once you have finished with the treatment, you can begin to get stronger, day by day, and look forward to recovery. Soon enough you will be back singing with the band.
A huge celebration is in order!!! I wish we could all meet up and celebrate with you! Wonderful, wonderful, news! 😀

    Hi Jackie
What wonderful news, I am so excited for you.  I know from others in the community how tough chemo is and so it is particularly pleasing to know that it has been worth it for you.
Yes, the cricket was exhausting just to watch, but not as exhausting as the ladies. It was fun having them around though.
I am working on a new song which I am hoping to finish this week. I am trying to sound like Chris Rea on it. Some hope!!

Yes, the steroids are playing havoc with my weight - or perhaps it is the carrot cake. 🎂😂

Oh Jackie, I am so excited for you. You will be back with the music and the grandchildren and I have not forgotten what Norman and Jasper have been through too.
Onwards and upwards for all of you. 👍

    Hi dear Robert And Lou,
I hope you have been coping with the tremendous heat today! Phew how hot! Norm kindly went into our sizzling loft today to get two fans out, one for bedroom and the other for the lounge.
What a relief! I hope you have have a good day and managed to get some jobs done in readiness for your holiday Lou.
Rob I hope your meds are helping you too.
Thank you both for your lovely words of encouragement all through and congratulations on getting a clear scan. I was given the option to stop treatment when I saw the consultant recently or carry on on for a couple. I thought about it and have decided because of the neuropathy and neutrapenia to halt after 9 treatments over 5.5 months. They seemed to say that another couple that  I was down  for would not make a huge difference as I have a clear scan and very good cancer marker. They agreed and said I had done well with it and it was probably better to finish now than to push my neuropathy further. I’m seeing Consultant in 5 weeks and will be referred back to Surgeon to decide about resection of my bowel and removal of colostomy.
They have bern very kind and said just ring my Cancer Specialist Nurse if I have an concerns and that  there will be regular scans and catchup appointments so thats good.
I feel so pleased to have got there at last. My Picc Line comes out after 5.5 months on Thurs yes!!!
I hope that your treatments and medications continue to keep you both well.
I don’t know what I would have done without all you lovely people and Livebetterwith Community. You were a lifeline. Thank you. 💖💖

Can’t wait to hear your Chris Rea Rob! I’m going for a little sing song till about 10 at folk club tonight.
As long as it not too hot and heaving!
A  Day at a friends beach hut tomorrow she has lent us with the kiddiwinks and mummies tomorrow. I really want to get back into life as we new it but I know we might have to take it as it comes and be happy with that. Will keep in touch and wish everyone the very best for the future.
    Have a wonderful holiday Lou.
Rob I hope your move goes well back to the mainland and I will be thinking of you both a lot. Maybe we can all meet up sometime? Please take care and look after yourselves.
Lots of love Jackie xx 💖🙋‍♀️😘🙏

Good morning Margy (it soon will be for you), here it is almost bedtime, although the temp is still 27C here at the moment, so not much point in trying to sleep it is too hot! lol! =)
I am so glad your new job is going well and you are enjoying it too, that is even better! It must be strange or Beau to have his mum in the office too, haha!
I have spent the last couple of days running the girls here there and everywhere, it was too hot to be in the garden today, topped 35! It must be getting colder for you now , are you in the thick of winter now?
All going well here, finally got the garden tidy and enjoying sitting out in the evenings when it is cooler. I love it when I can look out and not think 'oh that needs doing, and this needs doing etc.'
Have a great day today, chat to you soon,

    Hi Jackie, Good evening!
It has been a scorcher, and still is here! we noticed the clouds gathering before it became dark, so I think we are in for a hot night! Scorchio!   =)

Thank you for your lovely words, I am so pleased and thankful you have been blessed and helped by being part of the community, it's what it's all about! You have been such an encouragement to others too. One of the major good things about this is that we have got to know each other and have made new friends, I am sure one day we will get together. It sounds like you have a great support network with the medical team where you are, that is so reassuring for you, knowing you can give them a call if you are concerned about anything.
Having the picc line out is very simple, much easier than putting it in.
I hope you had a fab time at the club tonight singing, it must feel so good to be able to start enjoying these activities again, and tomorrow a day a the beach! With a beach hut too! Very nice! I am so glad you are feeling able to do more now, little by little you will become stronger and your recovery will continue to improve.
If you manage to make it out for the weekend event, send me some pics!
    Sending you big hugs!

    Hi Margy
Good to hear that you are enjoying your new job. It must feel strange to hear Beau calling you Margy, Margy. 🤣 My sisters and I still refer to our parents as Mummy and Daddy even though we are in our 70s and 80s. 😂🤣

It was 37centigrade here yesterday which translates to 98.6 Fahrenheit. Even hotter than Texas where my eldest sister lives. 🤒
The difference being that we don't have aircon which is standard out there.
I do hope that you are keeping well Margy.

    Speak soon.

    Hi Robert and Lou
Oh you poor things in that heat. We have that for weeks or months on end.... but we also have the most air conditioned country i am sure. I feel so bad for you. Even we struggle with living in heat so you guys would find it unbearable. Washing has to be hung out by 6am or after dark. Watering is before 6am or in the late evening🤣🤣🤣
When we shop and come out to carpark you start the car immediately and put air on, put shopping in boot and then dive into the car🤣🤣🤣🤣
We had a party for our grand daughter in February. .it was 46 degrees 😨😨😨 now that was unbearable , but we have a couple of weeks straight at that heat, nothing under 40.
I feel so sorry for you putting up with that heat as you cant escape it.
    Yes loving work sofar.
We have our home on the market as we have bought another home literaly up the road but on the hill. So we will have beautiful views again , instead of fences🤣🤣🤣
I will send a photo of one of the views. It looks overbthe valley and the tree line is the Murray River.
Well better go and think about bed
    Talk soon
    Margy 💖💖

    Dear Jackie

Great to hear that your picc line is coming out at last after so long.  After your bowel resection and colostomy bag removal, you will be as good as new.
Yes, it would be nice to have life back as we knew it, but with a little adjustment here and there, it can still be a lot of fun. I feel that living with cancer has enabled me to find a lot of lovely, courageous and special friends and also to relish the good things in life a little more.  When we finally move back to England, Mary and I will make sure that we meet up. Have car will travel. Perhaps I can make a guest appearance with your band. 🎹🎤
I think it was rather fanciful of me to talk of emulating Chris Rea but you have to aim high haha. 🤣🤣He is my musical hero and he is from my home town. He is completely uninterested in celebrity and writes and performs the music he loves most. He had pancreatic cancer and underwent a whipple procedure in 2001 following which he says he found greater appreciation for life, his family, and the things he loves. I guess that makes sense to all of us in this community.
Anyway, I have nearly finished my new song and I will send it to you as soon as I am happy with it.

The hot weather has been a little troubling for me as my hot flushes have become more frequent and extended but my specialist nurse has just  prescribed a daily tablet she thinks will help. In the meantime, I am keeping out if the Sun for a change.

You will be having a smashing day at the seaside with the mums and kiddies. How lovely to have a beach hut. Take good care and enjoy.

    Rob xx

    Hi Margy, Rob,

Margy, you know how much I love where you live, the house looks fabulous, such fantastic views!
I hope your house sells very soon, so the move can go smoothly.
Yes, lack of air conditioning is hard when it is like this, but really this weather is still rare for us in the grand scheme of things.
I used to have this ancient fan, really ancient. Last year when I told my sister, she got me a new dyson one, it is soooo cool, literally.! =) It is on all day, Lesley, I am the same as you!! Haha! =)

Rob, my sister still refers to our parents in that way too! lol  =)

Have a good night's rest Margy, chat to you tomorrow.

    Hi Margy
Wow, the views from your new home are fabulous. Our cruise along the Murray River was a highlight of our Australian trip. We had a barbie and dancing at Big Bend. A wonderful memory. We were on our honeymoon along with 26 other people who were in our group.

Love your good morning meme. Thanks for posting it.
