Last week I visited my friend Ron who wrote the poem ‘Best of Friends’ which I posted a while ago.

He has written some new ones. This one is:-

Today I’m in a happy place

A glint in my eye

And a smile on my face

A spring in my step

And some of my hair

My teeth are not mine

But I don’t care

My hearing is great

And I can see

There’s not much wrong

With little old me

When I awoke this morning

The Sun was shining bright

I felt so lively and refreshed

I slept so well last night

I’m really looking forward

To a happy day ahead

A day to be remembered

Because as I have said

When you wake up in the morning

And your heart is on the wing

You want to dance, you want to laugh

You might even want to sing

So listen to my story

And hear just what I say

And all your fears and worries

Will simply fade away.

Here is a picture of the ‘Best of Friends.’ We have 156 years between us and counting. Ron is the good looking one.

    Hi Rob,

I love this photo of you and Ron, so many years of friendship, it's really great.

Love it that he is writing so many poems and giving them to you to set them to music.

A great reminder to us, that each new day we have is to be lived and celebrated. I hope even those who are really struggling right now will see something to make them smile today.

    Lou xx
